It was the Fourth of July weekend holiday and two of my girlfriends and I decided to spend it by going on a road trip. We did it! Three girls with poor driving skills drove their way from California to Arizona to Utah to Nevada, all in just three days.
I don’t mind driving for hours even after an eight-hour duty if this was my view. We left at one in the morning and reached Arizona around eight. I thought it was such a fun drive and I thank God for guiding us all the way (we did some reckless stuff that I’d rather not mention).
Here’s what we had for brunch when we arrived. Yummy!
Arizona feels! And matchy-matchy caps that were totally unplanned (just like the trip), too!
We took a nap in the car (we arrived early and our check in at the hotel is not until three in the afternoon), changed to our hiking clothes and headed straight to Grand Canyon. Another two-hour drive!
We took the easiest trail called Bright Angel Trail since we only had less than half a day to hike. We probably went too far down because by the time we were on our way back, we thought we were not going to make it — lack of exercise! Plus the heat of the summer sun didn’t help. It was close to a hundred degrees Fahrenheit!
Who needs a boyfriend when you’ve got these two!
It might not be a bad idea for this to be our signature pose.
She’s always ready for a backpacking adventure!
Oh, how I would love to have this view from my window!
Just when I was tired and hungry from all the hiking, I found a full course meal right in front of me! Ha-ha, just kidding. My friend just decided to mess around while I was trying to take a selfie. Please note that the camera was facing me!
We probably wouldn’t have made it back if not for our trail mix! This kept us energized the whole time.
Into-the-woods kind of photo somewhere around the parking lot.
It was an exhausting and yet fulfilling day for the three of us! We literally forgot that we had zero sleep while we were at the park, and instantly remembered when we got back at our hotel, which was finally available for check-in.
